Laurie is King’s Counsel at Garden Court Chambers. He is the leading authority on British nationality law and is the author of the only British Nationality Law Handbook, which is now in its 3^rd Edition.

Lord Moraes OBE is a former British Labour Party MEP, a post which he held from 1999-2020. He previously worked as Director of the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) and was appointed a Commissioner for Racial Equality.

Baroness Lister is a Labour life peer of the House of Lords and was a member of the Lords Select Committee on Citizenship and Civic Engagement. She is Professor of Social Policy at Loughborough University. She has written and contributed to a number of books, pamphlets and articles on poverty, social security and women’s citizenship.
