Carol Bohmer
Carol has an extensive history of migration including personal experience of the denial and delay of her citizenship rights; born in New Zealand and therefore a New Zealand citizen, she naturalized as an USA citizen, living there for many years. She is also a Czech citizen, through her parents, who fled what was then Czechoslovakia to New Zealand before World War II. It took 10 years to have her Czech citizenship confirmed from the time of her seeking this.
She is a lawyer and sociologist with many years of academic and practical experience in the field of migration. She has taught at Cornell, Rutgers, Georgetown and McGill Law Schools, Dartmouth College, University of Lund in Sweden and King’s College, London.
