PRCBC has made a submission to Ofsted’s consultation on its inspection of children’s services. Children’s services have a vital role in safeguarding children against loss of rights to British citizenship and the impact of growing up in the UK without that citizenship where it is their right. For reasons explained in this submission, PRCBC considers this should be something that Ofsted helps children’s services to understand and act on. For children affected, the consequences of not safeguarding children’s citizenship rights is profoundly undermining of all else that is of concern to Ofsted, those services, children’s best interests and society more widely.
