Guardian article: How the Home Office denied a British-born man his citizenship for 15 years

Jan 4, 2026

Thank you to Olu, PRCBC former client and Trustee since 2024, for speaking of his experience of growing up deprived of his British citizenship.

Too many people still do not understand that birth in the UK is not enough to make someone a British citizen. Many children born here need their citizenship to be formally registered. Nobody born and raised in this country should have to enter adulthood – let alone their 20’s, 30’s or even 40’s – without their citizenship being recognised.

Please support PRCBC to finally end this injustice.

We are grateful to Aamna Mohdin (Community Affairs Correspondent) for her insightful coverage of this story.
